Subscribing to a philosophy of “Active Data Governance”, members of Daman’s Information Governance practice focus on activities that operationalize principles and automate tasks that contribute to managing the integrity and use of our client’s data assets. As a Metadata Architect, you will help define the meta-model and associated processes to tag, catalog and use the information assets of our client’s data ecosystem. You will define metadata capturing requirements for all processes within the data domain and be technically proficient to build harvesting tools to extract and relate metadata from various systems facilitating data lineage.
- Understand the role of metadata in capturing data lineage, and supporting data quality/veracity in the context of risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Support the development of metadata standards, architecture, and best practices by the lead architect. Effectively communicate these to ETL, BI, and systems development teams.
- Develop integration routines into Metadata repository technologies (Collibra, IBM IGC, Alation) from the ETL processes, BI artifacts, and the databases.
- Define/extend meta models within repository toolkits.
- Build metadata administration and maintenance routines.
- Exposure to data governance, data standards, and data policies
- Deep experience with at least one metadata management tools (IBM IGC, Collibra, Alation)
- Experience building metadata harvesting utilities from both cloud and on-prem data ecosystems.
- Experience with ETL processes and some ETL development with a tool kit (for eg: IBM Infosphere, Informatica, Talend, etc)
- Experience with metadata asset inventories and enhancing metadata assets within toolkits
- Experience building a metadata repository and defining the data model
- Clear and effective communicator: written and verbal
- Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Applications, Information Systems or Engineering is required.
