Subscribing to a philosophy of “Active Data Governance”, members of Daman’s Information Governance practice focus on activities that operationalize principles and automate tasks that contribute to managing the integrity and use of our client’s data assets. As an Information Governance Architect, you will help define the framework that supports cataloging, securing, mastering, cleansing, and semantically enriching our client’s data assets. You will be proficient in a variety of data governance technologies (IBM IGC, Collibra, TAMR, Precisely, etc) and use them effectively to define a solution to transform our clients’ information assets into business drivers.
- Provide governance solution architecture and consultancy around operational principles, solution design, tools selection, integration, and administration
- Drive new initiatives for Governance Playbook
- Develop a framework for operationalizing data governance across business and IT landscapes, including the “data certification framework”.
- Build prototypes and integrated demos for metadata exchange to evaluate tool capabilities for supporting the metadata architecture
- Provide central governance, data asset collection and administration functions for production Information Governance platform
- Evangelize governance and enterprise governance across business verticals and build trust with business and IT stakeholders
- Helping verticals centrally author, store, steward, and serve familiar language on the central production governance server
- Set up processes for cataloging technical assets of the EDW (including Erwin models, Hadoop data assets, Teradata data assets, and Cognos Report assets)
- Setup processes to enable data architects and data modelers to author mapping documents
- Setup a semantic layer of Enterprise Data Assets (EDA) for purpose of building a data marketplace shopping experience

- Strong technical expertise in at least one DG tool: IBM IGC, Collibra, or Alation
- Prior experience building meta models and metadata bridges
- Experience with one MDM implementation is nice to have.
- Effective conceptualization, pattern recognition, and teaming skills.
- Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders, and technical staff alike.
- Demonstrated influence, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Data modeling and information classification expertise at the enterprise level. Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models.
- Understanding of metamodels, taxonomies, and ontologies, as well as of the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less-structured sources.
- Familiarity with data science concepts, as well as MDM, business intelligence, and data warehouse design and implementation techniques.
- Experience with distributed management and analytics in the cloud and hybrid environments.
- Strong communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to create marketing and messaging materials that meet stakeholder needs.
- Ability to analyze project, program, and portfolio needs, as well as determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers.
- Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Applications, Information Systems or Engineering is required
